Gordon Shaw is the owner and operator of Hangers Cleaners, in Mission Valley, San Diego. Opened in April, 2001, Hangers Cleaners is the first and only 100% all natural liquid carbon dioxide drycleaning plant on the West Coast, and one of fewer than 40 in the world.

Prior to his shift to the new CO2 technology, Gordon had built, owned and operated 5 perc plants, 3 agencies, and a gas station in San Diego County since 1978, the last of which was sold in April 2000. He has twice been the recipient of a top honors award in the American Drycleaner Magazine's Plant Design Competition, in 1999 for Sorrento Cleaners, and 2002 for Hangers Cleaners. Gordon has served as Director, Vice-President, and President of the San Diego Drycleaners Association; Director, and Vice-President of the California Cleaners Association; and a member of the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District's Compliance Improvement Team.

Since becoming a liquid CO2 drycleaner, Gordon has been the subject of numerous magazine and TV news stories, has provided tours of the CO2 operation to many industry and governmental leaders from as far away as Great Britain and Sweden, testified before a Congressional Sub-Committee in Washington on behalf of HR 1303, the Dry Cleaning Environmental Tax Credit Bill, and received San Diego County's only 2001 Clean Air Award in Recognition of his Outstanding Contribution Implementing Innovative Clean Air Technology.

Gordon is a graduate of the University of Delaware, and served 4 years as a U.S. Naval Officer. He lives in La Jolla, California and has 2 daughters.
